Simon is Professor of Evolutionary Palaeobiology at Cambridge University.  He is called upon as an expert on numerous science programmes and has presented the Royal Institution Christmas lectures.

He is the author of The Crucible of Creation(Oxford University Press), Life’s Solution(Cambridge University Press) and The Runes of Evolution (Templeton Press)
