Former BBC war correspondent and independent MP, Martin is now an Ambassador for UNICEF. 

During his years as a war correspondent, he covered eleven conflicts and reported from eighty countries. 

Martin is the author of eight books, the most recent of which are The End of Empire and War and the Death of News.
